うま味? UMAMI
UMAMI DIET. . .the first diet based on good taste
PREMISE: FINALLY LOOK FORWARD TO FLAVOR, THINK AND ENJOY. PLAN IF YOU NEED, BUT MOSTLY BE CONSCIOUS AND LOVE THE EXPERIENCE OF THE FLAVOR. THE FIRST DIET BASED ON GOOD TASTE.
THE DIET IS SIMPLE- EVERYDAY HAVE SOMETHING THAT FITS IN THE 5 FLAVOR SENSORS- THINK, NOTE AND ENJOY SWEET, SALTY, SOUR BITTER AND ALWAYS UMAMI. ONE OF EACH OF THE 4 BASICS, AND LOGICAL AMOUNTS OF UMAMI.
As you go through your day just simply keep track of your 4 tastes plus umami. EXPERIENCE all four tastes and you are done for the day. If you need a snack, always umami
FOODS HIGH IN UMAMI: meats and vegetables. Umami taste is most notably in fish, shellfish, cured meats, mushrooms, vegetables (e.g., ripe tomatoes, Chinese cabbage, spinach, celery, etc.) or green tea, and fermented and aged products (e.g., cheeses, shrimp pastes, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, etc.).

CHALLENGES: It is hard to not have heavy rules, limits. It is also hard for some to always remember to eat healthy, For me that is easy for I love and naturally gravitate to healthy foods.
Starting the Umami diet Sunday. I am excited, but undefined. I love the diet notebook. . . the place where all my best diets start- a clean slate, literally. The notebook serves as my councilor, ruler, guide and judge. I write the rules of the diet, add lots of dates and finish with some sort of outlined plan of my food existence for the duration. Obviously I would want all these burned if I die unexpectedly- totally humiliating.
